Is this different from the WhatsApp Business App?

Yes — completely. The Business App is a mobile app limited to one user and no automation. The API allows programmatic sending, bulk broadcasts, drip sequences, and CRM integration. You need the API to do any kind of marketing at scale.

Can I send promotional messages on WhatsApp?

Yes, since 2021 Meta allows marketing messages via the API. Recipients must have opted in to receive marketing messages from you. Templates must be pre-approved by Meta. Messages outside an active conversation window require a template — free-form messages are only allowed within 24 hours of a user-initiated conversation.

What are the per-message costs?

Meta charges per conversation (a 24-hour window), not per message. India rates: approximately ₹0.58 per marketing conversation, ₹0.14 per utility conversation, and ₹0 for service conversations (user-initiated). We model your expected monthly cost before you commit.

How do opt-outs work?

When a user replies STOP or blocks your number, we receive a webhook and immediately mark them as opted out. They will never receive another message from you. Violating this is a Meta policy breach and can result in your WABA being banned.

How many contacts can I reach per day?

New WABA accounts start at Tier 1: 1,000 unique conversations per day. This scales to Tier 2 (10,000), Tier 3 (100,000), and Unlimited as you maintain a good quality rating. We manage your quality rating as part of the service.
